Sahasrara

Sahasrara (Sanskrit: सहस्रार, Sahasrāra) is the crown chakra.
Color: White - Pure Light

Element: Consciousness itself.

Location: placed above the head crown.

Yantra Symbol: It is described with 1000 multi-colored petals which are arranged in 20 layers. 

Associations / Characteristics: This chakra symbolizes detachment from illusion, which is an essential element in obtaining supramental higher consciousness of the truth that one is all and all is one.
It is the most subtle chakra, relating to pure consciousness.  It is sometimes related to the pituitary gland. 

Unbalanced chakra: chronic exhaustion, sensitivity to light and sound. Psychologically and emotionally: lack of purpose, loss of identity, disbelief in any spiritual realities, trust, selflessness, apathy, devotion, inspiration, values, ethics, sense of fear, materialism.

Balanced chakra: Universal consciousness, open-mindedness, Intelligence, thoughtfulness, understanding and learning information more easily.
